Evidence
Interviews with leadership, customers and lapsed customers, plus a read of what the market currently believes about you. Positioning built from internal opinion alone is why so much of it fails to land.
Practice area — strategy
The strategic half of branding: what you stand for, who it is for, and why anyone should believe you. We do not design logos, and we will say so before you ask.
Scope, stated plainly
Brand work splits into strategy and expression. Strategy decides the position; expression executes it in identity, design and campaign. We do the first and work alongside the studios who do the second.
Firms that sell both tend to be strong at one. If what you need is visual identity, we will introduce you to a Singapore studio that does it properly rather than take the brief and subcontract it.
Method
Interviews with leadership, customers and lapsed customers, plus a read of what the market currently believes about you. Positioning built from internal opinion alone is why so much of it fails to land.
Where you actually compete, which is frequently not where you think. Repositioning inside a category you cannot win is expensive; changing the category you are judged in is usually the higher-leverage move.
One sentence you can defend in a boardroom, with the proof behind each claim. If it could be said by three competitors without alteration, it is not a position.
How the corporate brand, the sub-brands and the founder's personal profile relate. For founder-led Singapore businesses this is often the most valuable part of the work.
The framework everything downstream is built from: sales decks, the website, hiring, earned media.
What gets said, to whom, in what order. A repositioning announced badly reads as a rebrand covering something up.
Common questions
No. We do the strategy that a designer needs before starting, and we work alongside identity studios in Singapore. Anyone offering strategy, identity, web, advertising and PR from one small team is stretched across at least three of them.
Narrower and more senior. We are engaged for positioning and narrative, usually where reputation is the reason it matters — a founder-led firm, a business rebuilding after an incident, or a professional services firm that is indistinguishable from its competitors on paper.
Six to ten weeks for most corporate mandates, including interviews, category analysis and a written strategy the leadership team has actually signed off on rather than politely received.
That is the specific case we are built for, though the sequence matters: remediation first, repositioning second. A new position launched on top of an unresolved search result gets read as an attempt to distract from it.
Private enquiry
If the honest answer is that you need a design studio rather than us, we will say so in the first call.
